Humans have one common denominator: we love stories.

Take anyone on the planet and tell them a good story ( in their language) and they will be hooked. Not only will they want more, but you, the storyteller, will be remembered.

Adrien is a veteran storyteller and solo female traveler. She weaves her experiences into well crafted and comedic stories for the stage. Her stories inspire people to travel and highlight the reality of traveling alone.

She has been through everything.

Almost kidnapped in Turkey. Check.

Harvested olives in Italy. Check.

Stranded on a highway in Mexico for 8+ hours. Check. Check. Check.

Adrien’s comedic background is able to lighten up even the toughest of topics and unfortunate events, while still being able to highlight the unreplicable joys of travel.

She has learned more about the human condition from the countries that she has explored than any textbook could. She is here to share her stories and make some more with you.

Adrien weaves the following three main themes into each of her workshops.

Self-Growth

Travel isn’t just about the Instagram likes: it is about understanding your place in the world. When we travel, we have a unique opportunity to connect deeper with ourselves and those who are vastly different from you. The growth people go through while traveling stories people return with last longer than souvenirs.  Through storytelling, Adrien can teach your organization how to market your brand, company, or country on how your customers or visitors will be forever changed.

There is a tremendous amount of self-growth that comes out of traveling, especially for womxn.

Solo female travelers

Adrien wants to ignite a movement of womxn to go out and intrepidly travel the world. When womxn travel alone they are given space to connect with themselves. They are pulled out of the societal expectations that are placed on them since in utero. Through travel, womxn can get a grasp on who they are and flex their agency without the influence of others. Additionally, when womxn travel alone, they strengthen their independence, an area that women have been denied historically. We are the first generation of womxn who are able to fiercely travel alone and need to make sure that continues. We show the world and ourselves our own abilities, potential, and power when we wander around the globe on our own.
Adrien’s experiences and stories can help clue brands, corporations, and tourism boards on how to market towards solo female travelers through honest storytelling.

Humanitarian

Travel can be a humanitarian action, when the intention is set. When we travel, we become vulnerable to our surroundings and have to trust those around us. We are also snatched out of our bubbles as to what the world is like and bring the lessons we have learned from the world back to our homes. Travel allows us to see the broader impact our individual choices and thoughts have. It is able to eradicate prejudice and expands your worldview, of which there is no coming back.

Our presence in these communities has a ripple effect and where we choose to stay, eat, and shop has an effect on the larger community we are visiting.

Adrien will help you connect with your audience through the lens of humanitarian values. Individuals don’t want to go galavanting around Spain anymore, they want to travel consciously and intentionally. Adrien can help you market your brand, organization, or tourism board on how to have a deeper in the local communities

The world has a way of humbling us. When we leave our comfort zone we are exposed to the infinity of knowledge that we have no idea exists.

In Defense of Strangers : How Storytelling Can Help You Connect with Anyone, Regardless of Where They are From

There is a pervasive myth that strangers are dangerous and should not be trusted. However, my experience as a solo female traveler who has traveled through 30 countries dismantles that idea. I have willingly stayed on the couches, floors, and beds of strangers. Strangers have helped me get out of tricky to bizarre situations and have always guided me when I needed it most. As I have traveled the globe, I have found more benevolence than malice in every country I have been to.

The problem is that humans are instinctively tribal, and we are living in a culture that is profiting off of those instincts. Our  news cycles and politicians use tribal instincts to keep up separate and seem more different from each other than similar. The myth of stranger danger continues to persist- but that completely contradicts mine and other travelers direct experience with traveling the world. When you travel you have to trust strangers and you realize the world is not nearly as dangerous as it seems. , interacting, and falling in love with strangers.

The solution is to talk to strangers when you are traveling and diversify your friendship portfolio when you are home. Interacting with those who are different from you will expand your perceptions, beliefs, and limitations about yourself and the way that the world works. Additionally, there are numerous social and psychological benefits to talking to strangers. Interacting with strangers inspires tremendous self-growth, fosters purposeful communities, and eradicates prejudice.

We can connect with strangers through storytelling. We can humanize ourselves by our experiences and connect on the levels that make us human.  Here are some ways to chat up and make waiting in line, cab rides, or flights much more fun.

How to Take the Fear Out of Traveling

In 2015, 40% of Americans were in fear of a terrorist attack or being a victim of a terrorist attack where the  political scientist John Mueller mentions in a Slate article, in recent years Americans are more likely to die of  deer collisions than have ISIS targeting your home.

Why are we so afraid of traveling? Although many people wished they could travel, they have underlying fears that individuals have around traveling that prevent us from

Although travel is trending, not many Americans do it. Roughly 35% of Americans have a passport, meaning they can’t even cross either border to get cheaper prescription drugs. Together, we can make travel more of a priority for a large part of the population.

  • Supporting female economies

How to Use Stories to Get More People to Visit Your Country ( No matter what the news says)

Stories are more impactful than a listicle. When you inject context and emotions into a space it becomes alive, even if you are sitting in a conference room. What can that city provide for your visitors on an emotional level? How will they walk away transformed and mesmerized from your city?
